Joanna Spiteri Staines is a partner and architect at Openworkstudio, which she co-founded in 2016. She holds an architecture degree from the University of Malta, a restoration specialisation from La Sapienza in Rome and an MPhil in sustainable heritage from UCL. She previously worked at Architecture Project, including on the Malta Stock Exchange in Valletta and the Valletta Waterfront, and is design director of the Gozo Museum project through NIDUM. She received the MASP President's Award in 2025.
